Mercedes UK has confirmed Just 999 cars will be produced across sedan and wagon body styles, with the 2022 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S Final Edition largely limited to cosmetic upgrades over the standard E 63 S.2. Magnificent Exterior
The Final Edition comes in any color as long as it’s matte Graphite Grey Magno (code 818) and comes with the AMG Night Package fitted as standard. That means the front air dam, splitter, and all trim that is otherwise chromed, is painted in 040 black. The B-pillar is also treated with a darkened glass-effect and black badging. Or, leave the badging off. Also optional is the Carbon 1 or 2 package, with which, many are fitted. There are puddle lights under the mirrors which project the AMG logo on to the ground. More immediately obvious is are the stickers running along each side, and the AMG badges on the C-pillars.
Step inside, and you’ll find the interior has been improved too, thanks partly to the standard electrically-adjustable AMG Performance seats. There’s also AMG Nappa leather in grey pearl and black with yellow contrast stitching, and a steering wheel wrapped in a mix of black Nappa leather and Alcantara-like Dinamica with yet more yellow stitching. Interior trim is exposed carbon fiber, throughout. The center console is in leather, and there is a plaque with “AMG FINAL EDITION” and “1 of 999“. Even the door entries are lit in a unique yellow (instead of blue, as in other Mercedes) “AMG.”
Mechanically, the E 63 S has been left alone, although it hasn’t ever been crying out for significant changes anyway. As before, propulsion comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 offering 604bhp and 850Nm of torque, driving all wheels to provide a 3.2-second 0-62mph time.
